Pre-Writing App

Always love when I get the opportunity to teach in EYFS and so was great to spend time in Nursery at Lanchester EP today. Combined the brilliant ‘Pre-Writing’ app from Yellow Door with ‘magic wands’ (stylus pens). Children very quickly associate pens/pencils with ‘doing work’ and so that simple hook of a magic wand can encourage children who would otherwise be reluctant writers to engage in a writing activity. Had guided access turned on too, so I could control the app which they were using and they weren’t just pressing the home button within seconds to try and get on a different app. Very impressed by the work which the children produced. Animate 2 Educate are available to deliver staff training and pupil workshops in the best use of iPad technology in Early Years education.
