Meeting with MP for Gateshead Ian Mearns

Delighted to meet online today with Labour MP for Gateshead Ian Mearns. I am proud to be currently representing the North East on the Bett Global ‘BETT Advisory Boatd’ and was very humbled that Ian accepted my invitation to meet with myself and Mahyar Rahmantalab (Government Relations Manager for BETT Global). Ian took 45 minutes of his time to speak to us from his office in the Commons and I’m proud to have someone as my local MP who is knowledgeable, passionate and understanding of the education sector. It is great that Ian shares my desire for children in the North East to be equipped with the digital skills to prepare them for their future lives and how events like BETT help to provide teachers with the essential CPD needed to then disseminate the skills to their pupils. I want to say a huge thank you to Ian for giving his time so freely today and for helping Mahyar, EJ Quinn (Head of Community Development at Hyve Group who was also on the call) and myself to strive for BETT being an event which is well represented by the North East education sector. I look forward to continuing and developing this positive relationship with Ian for the goof all schools in Gateshead and the wider North East.
