Castles - ‘Epic Citadel’ & ‘Shadow Puppet Edu’ apps

Fabulous morning bringing ‘Castles’ topic to life with my Year 1 pupils at Lanchester EP. Pupils started by using ‘Epic Citadel’ app to explore a virtual medieval world. Whilst exploring they took screenshots of the different features of castles that they spotted. Was great hearing all of the wonderful discussion and vocabulary that pupils were using whilst on the app. Pupils then used their screenshots with ‘Shadow Puppet Edu’ app to make a multimedia presentation about the features of castles. In order for sound to be recorded whilst using 25 iPads simultaneously I used Native Union Pop Phones to ensure that each pupils’ voice could be heard. The finished presentations were excellent and demonstrated a wonderful understanding of the features of castles.
