Day Off - Dad’s Birthday

Enjoyed having a day off today and helping my dad to celebrate his 86th Birthday alongside my sister and my cousins. Huge thanks to the fantastic ‘Ardallan Kitchen’ in Felling for making such a fuss over dad on his special day. Great to have somewhere like this this in Felling and can’t recommend a visit highly enough. Wonderful food and staff make it the perfect bistro. Massive thanks also too to my own school (Lanchester EP - Co.Durham) for giving all staff a ‘Family Day’ each year which they can take. Within the education profession we all constantly go above and beyond for the benefit of the school and our pupils and so it is very much appreciated to be rewarded with a day when you can put your own family first. The memories of such days can never be repeated, and I urge all schools to take a similar approach to promote staff wellbeing.
